Dive Shop and Convenience Store

We have a selection of general items - pop, beer, ice, some grocery items to name a few.  We also sell made to order pizza, have 4 or 5 flavors of wings and have soft serve ice cream in a cone or cup with many flavors to choose from.  We can also usually make burgers and often have B&G on weekend mornings.

Shirts, beach towels, and other 'local flavor' clothing - we have more inventory coming with a larger selection of shirts, towels and other lake related items.  We also carry noodles, should be getting some life jackets, a small selection of RV and camping items, firewood.

Lots of general property improvements happened over the winter - landscaping, tree trimming and mowing, new gravel and general clean up of the grounds.  We added more trash dumpsters and new parking areas including a place to park boats that has electric for charging trolling motors.

RV Park
The plan was to make all sites similar but supply chain issues over the winter prevented all the upgrades we'd hoped to complete.

Upper RV sites (#1-22) have 50 amp service and water.  Some sites have 20/30/50 amp service, some only have 20/50 amp service and you will need an adapter for 30-amp only RVs (we sell them in store).   Very few full hookup is available on these sites and most are taken by full timers.  We plan to add more sewer hookups over next winter.

Lower RV sites (#23-27) are all 30 amp full hookup.  We plan to upgrade them to 50 amp next winter.

We did some grading and added new gravel around the entire park then installed railroad ties to help create some clearer separation between sites.  Water pressure is still too low, we're working with the state health agency and local water company on a solution.

All lodging is available for booking online - click the button at the top of the page.

Various RV rates are available:

  • $35 / night:  Standard rate
  • $350 / month:  "Weekend only" rate.  3 or less  days a week, power turned off / unplugged when you are not at camp.
  • $750 / month: "Full time rate", as many days of the month as you want, power plugged in and turned on all the time.

Scuba Air Fills

Our air fill system has been completely revamped.  We now have 3 working compressors, all clean with new oil, new filtration and air tested quarterly by Trace Analytics.

"Old Man": 20 hp Worthington, our backup compressor.

"Dead Man":  an extra Worthington for parts...

We can fill normal air, nitrox, custom blends, any size bottle, decompression bottles (any mix, 1 week lead time, call ahead), air guns, paint guns and even tires if needed!

Pricing:

  • $10 - normal air fill
  • $20 - Nitrox on tap fill
  • Air Fill Card (10 fills) - $80
  • Nitrox Air Fill Card (10 fills) - $175
  • Custom blends and deco - custom pricing based on bottle size and mix

We have deals on single fills and air cards for other shops and dive pros (dive instructors and masters, bring credentials), see Toni in store for details.

Training Room Improvements

A larger TV for easier viewing during training.

Park Wi-Fi

Two 100 meg internet circuits installed, one for the upper portion of the property (store, classroom, penthouse and RV sites 1 through 22), one for the lower property (RV sites 23-27, 1 story motel and 2 story hostel/bunkrooms).  Mesh WiFi installed throughout.  We still have some dead spots in campers when the campsites get full (metal campers dampen wifi signals) which we are working on.

Beaver Dam Dive Shop and Resort Updates

  • March 20, 2022 Update

New signage is up, store is open, water is starting to warm up vs cool down, weather is turning nice, grass is starting to green up!  Diving is going to be here soon!

Motel / Hostel / Bunk Rooms are all online and reservable.  We've already had people stay with us.  RV sites are coming soon.  New pictures coming to the lodging website soon.

Definition of a Hostel:  (noun) an establishment which provides inexpensive food and lodging for a specific group of people, such as students, workers, or travelers.  In our case, mostly divers!  These are the motel like rooms in the 2 story motel that are 2 beds with bedding and towels provided but not much else.  Bathrooms are shared, no TV, etc.  The other rooms in the 2 story are bunk rooms.

  • March 12, 2022 Update

Lodging available online through the link above.  Needs more work but we took the motel, hostel and bunk rooms live.  RV sites coming soon (still need to place railroad ties and measure sites).  Site map needs more work.   Pics coming in the next week.

  • March 1, 2022 Update

The store is open!  Come in and visit.  We're still finalizing some remodeling but the doors are open.

Still waiting on new signage for the front of the building so we have not updated Google Maps yet.

Some updates on our renovations and cleanup.  New gravel throughout the park along with grading.  Roads to the motel are redone and looking good.  New parking lots out back also!  One next to the 2 story motel that should hold 8 to 10 cars, then a new boat only parking area next to the 1 story.  We'll be adding power outlets in the boat parking area soon.  Railroad ties are set throughout the property.

Motel remodel is 95% complete - no more carpet, all new paint, ceiling fans, nightstands, dressers, lamps, double euro top mattresses, box springs and bedding.

2 story motel (hostel and bunkrooms) has remained mostly the same.  New microwave and full size fridge are about the only changes.

Website continues to be developed.  Lodging available sooon for rooms through the link above.  RV Campsites bookable a week or so later once we get rail road ties down and measure sites.  Much still to be done filling in the information for the lodging on the Campspot website.  Calendar system needs a lot of work still.  Classes and other events coming soon.

WiFi - coming soon.  System is designed and ordered, the carrier is working on upgrading the equipment on the tower and we should have WiFi throughout the park by end of March.

RV Sites - upper sites are all 50 amp now.  4 of them have 30 and 50 amp plugs, the rest are all 50 amp plugs.  With the supply chain issues this past winter, new power pedestals were 4 to 6 months back ordered, if you could get them at all so we compromised. We used the existing pedestals and upgraded the 30 amp plugs to 50 amp.  If you have a 30 amp camper, you'll need an adapter.  We sell them in the store or bring your own.  Frost free hydrants going in every site soon.

Scuba stuff:  We ordered tons of new inventory, much of which has arrived but about half is still on back order.  New Clover POS system to track everything.  Air system was completely torn apart, cleaned, tumbled, hydro'd, painted and is going back together.  Class schedule being worked on but nothing available quite yet.  We have roughly 20 dive professionals (instructors and dive masters) that will be associated with the store teaching classes.  We may have dive trips available on a boat so you can do something through the store other than shore dives.

    Enough for now!

  • Older Updates

Beaver Dam Dive Shop & Resort - formerly C and J Sports.

Many plans for the website.  This main page has a lot of new info on it (as of Christmas, 2021) on the many changes going on at the shop.

We now have a new banner up top displaying Beaver Lake Water parameters!  The Water Level is taken from Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) website. The Water Temp is an actual reading of lake temp taken from our family's dock (about 2 miles distance from the dive park - a sensor updates the cloud every 2 hours, and we pull from that source to here).  The visibility and thermocline levels are manual inputs that Toni will update as divers make us aware of those figures.

Future Website Plans:  We plan on adding eCommerce, a calendar system for events and classes, online booking of motel and RV campsites, a gallery page where we can showcase pictures from dives and our awesome view of the lake, and a history page to pay homage to Jim and Rachel, his parents and everyone who built this business over the years.
